1976 Swine Flu Propaganda

Swine flu is one of the more ridiculous things we've been worried about this year. Apparently, 1976 saw a similar worry. 1. First of all I agree with you 100%. My thing is; "what is up with the number of reported cases?"
The health department of Illinois got the go ahead to start testing samples themselves for H1N1 rather than send their samples to the CDC and then BOOM! Their numbers almost triple compared to the rest of the states. Why? Is there some weird thing happening in the state of Illinois? Or are the numbers for the rest of the states way off?
Who knows, but I'm going to the cubs game tomorrow anyway!
